Welcome to The Ham Band website.

We have just finished our new song/video which describes the whole process of building a modern amateur radio station and at the same time enables the listener/viewer to learn Morse code - yes all the letters and numbers are in there! The video lasts about 20 minutes and there are 19 musicians playing in three different musical styles (French Musette, Viennese Waltz and German Oompah). The music changes key 24 times which means that this musical work may get into the Guinness Book of World Records!

You can view the first quarter (about 5 minutes) of the video for free - it is a fairly low quality version. Bandwidth considerations prevent us showing all 20 minutes for free (we did at the start but this low quality version is about 50mB and we got into some bandwidth charges we cannot afford).

Wimpy Wasp Video Preview

We (Andrew OZ1XJ/OZ5E/G3WZZ/3D2AH/ZK1XW and his XYL Lissa) do these videos for fun but bear in mind that it has cost us more to produce this video than the entire cost of all the equipment in our state-of-the-art contest station!

If you would like to see the whole video in much better quality you can download it from here for $5 as a contribution to inspire us to produce further music and video about our wonderful hobby. The file is a wmv compressed to a ZIP file, and it is rather big. If you prefer other video file types or even higher quality let us know.
The words to the song are here

We hope you enjoy this video as much as we enjoyed making it!
